Expo-Etcetera: Magento 1 to 2 Data Migration
Expo-Etcetera is an e-Commerce Magento webshop for visual communication media for expos, showrooms, stores, interiors, and events from a trusted product specialist.

About the project
Expo-Etcetera is an e-commerce Magento webshop for visual communication media. It serves expos, showrooms, stores, interiors, and events. The shop uses transfer sublimation for long-lasting large-format textile printing. This gives foldable textiles with bright colours that are odourless and wrinkle-free. For more than three decades, the store has run entirely through the website. Team Zehntech redesigned and migrated the webshop to a newer version. As a result, it has a modern look and improved functionality that fit the business needs.
The challenge
Expo-Etcetera has operated for more than 30 years. It offers exhibition walls, exhibition stands, pop-up stands, roll-up banners, beach flags, exhibition material, and (LED) frames with printed textiles. Their Magento 1 webshop managed all these operations.
However, the client started facing problems with the platform because the Magento community ended its support for Magento 1. Magento 1 had reached its limit. It allows no more performance improvement or optimization, and no extensions are available for it. It also carries security issues and vulnerabilities. For these reasons, the client approached Zehntech for an Expo-Etcetera Magento migration to Magento 2.
What we built
We performed a complete Magento migration and configured the theme to the client’s requirements. We offered a managed data migration from M1 to the M2 webshop, so the business would not lose any data.
First, we migrated the categories, products, and product pages. We also moved the CMS pages and static blocks from M1 into the M2 shop. Then we relocated the emails, templates, discounts, discount rules, catalogue cart rules, catalog price rules, reviews, newsletter subscriptions, orders, shipments, invoices, and system configurations.
Finally, we took care of the theme configuration and customization, so the website’s look and feel stays the same.
A look at the work
The result for the client
Team Zehntech was quick to grasp the client’s dilemma. The team paid close attention to the client’s requirements. As a result, it completed the migration process exactly as the client had anticipated. See our portfolio for more projects.
