Pixel Genie: AI avatars and text-to-image app

A US client owns a design firm in Texas. The client asked for an AI avatar generator that lets end users create avatars or profile pictures with custom backgrounds. The client also wanted a feature that turns text into images, so users can personalise their creations with their own words.

To meet these needs, our team proposed a mobile app built with Flutter. For the AI side, we recommended Python and AWS SageMaker. As a result, we delivered a cost-effective and user-friendly solution that met every requirement. It is also easy to use.

AI has surged in popularity worldwide. Our client saw a chance to build a tool that helps anyone create striking images, avatars and visuals from simple text. The main goal was a user-friendly solution that needs no design skills and no costly resources.

Several tools already exist in the market. However, the client found three problems with them: high costs, limited features and poor user-friendliness. So the client set out to build one tool that solves all three problems and gives users a smooth, affordable experience.

After a detailed analysis, we agreed with the client to build a mobile app named Pixel Genie. The app uses advanced image processing and user-centred design. Together, they give users a feature-rich and intuitive experience in Flutter.

• We built this AI avatar generator with Flutter, a cross-platform framework. It lets us keep a single codebase for several platforms, so the app works well on a wide range of devices.
• We added an AI-powered background changer with Python and AWS SageMaker. Users can pick a predefined background template, or they can upload their own custom background.
• We built an Avatar Creator that turns a user’s own images into unique, personal avatars. The interface is simple, and it offers more than 10 different avatars. This makes it easy for each person to find a style that fits their personality.
• We also added an AI/ML text-to-image feature. It uses deep learning to generate realistic, detailed images from simple text input. To achieve this, we deployed a custom Docker container on AWS SageMaker with the Stable Diffusion model from Hugging Face.
• Next, we used stable-diffusion, TensorFlow and Pillow for computer vision and machine learning. These tools help users create high-fidelity avatars that reflect their appearance and personality.
• We wrote the backend APIs in Python Flask for smooth integration and data handling. Finally, we deployed the app on the AWS cloud for scalability and reliability.
