How to Connect WooCommerce to Odoo — Complete Setup Guide

You can connect WooCommerce to Odoo without a developer, a middleware tool or weeks of implementation. The Zehntech Odoo WooCommerce Connector gives you real-time bi-directional sync between your WooCommerce store and your Odoo backend. You can set it up in under 15 minutes.

This guide is for Odoo administrators, eCommerce operations managers and store owners who set up the integration for the first time. By the end, your WooCommerce orders flow into Odoo automatically. Your inventory stays synchronized in real time, and your product catalog updates across both platforms from one place.

The estimated setup time is under 15 minutes. You can also see our Odoo apps.

Prerequisites — What You Need Before You Connect WooCommerce to Odoo

Before installing the connector, confirm the following:

  • Odoo version: v17, v18, or v19 are all supported. Note that Odoo v16 is not supported.
  • Deployment: Odoo.sh, or On-Premise
  • Required Odoo modules: Contacts, Inventory, Invoicing, Sales, and Discuss. All are standard Odoo modules, so you need no additional installation
  • Admin access: rights to install apps and configure connector settings in Odoo
  • WooCommerce REST API: must be enabled on your WordPress store (it is built into WooCommerce by default, so you only need to generate an API key and secret from WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key)

Have your WooCommerce store URL, API key, and API secret ready before starting.

Install the Connector (Step 1)

First, open Apps in your Odoo backend. Search for zehntech_odoo_woocommerce_connector and install it. No server restart is required.

Once installed, a new WooCommerce Connector menu item appears in your Odoo backend.

Connect Your WooCommerce Store to Odoo (Step 2)

Next, open WooCommerce Connector → Configuration → Stores and click Create.

Then enter:

  • Store Name — a label for this WooCommerce store (used internally in Odoo)
  • Store URL — your WooCommerce store’s base URL (e.g. https://yourstore.com)
  • Consumer Key — the API key generated in WooCommerce
  • Consumer Secret — the API secret generated in WooCommerce

Click Test Connection to confirm Odoo can reach your WooCommerce store. A successful test shows a green confirmation.

Multi-store: Repeat this step for each additional WooCommerce store you want to connect. Odoo authenticates each store separately, and you manage all of them from the same backend.

Map Your Data (Step 3)

Now that your store is connected, configure how data maps between WooCommerce and Odoo:

Product mapping. Define which WooCommerce products correspond to which Odoo products. The connector matches by SKU by default. Review the mapping. Then adjust it for any products with SKU differences between platforms.

Order status mapping. Map WooCommerce order statuses (Processing, Completed, Cancelled) to the corresponding Odoo states. As a result, you control what happens in Odoo when an order status changes in WooCommerce.

Customer mapping. Configure how Odoo creates WooCommerce customers. Typically, it matches on email address to prevent duplicates.

Sync direction. For each data type, configure which direction changes flow:

  • Orders: WooCommerce → Odoo (import only)
  • Inventory: Bi-directional (Odoo updates WooCommerce; WooCommerce orders reduce Odoo stock)
  • Products: Odoo → WooCommerce (push catalog and price updates)
  • Customers: WooCommerce → Odoo (import and centralize)

Enable Real-Time Sync and Go Live (Step 4)

Once your mappings are configured, enable Real-Time Sync from the connector settings. This activates the webhook connection between WooCommerce and Odoo. As a result, changes in either system propagate instantly.

Run the initial import. First, before you rely on real-time sync for new data, import your existing WooCommerce records:

  • Open WooCommerce Connector → Import → Orders to import historical orders
  • Then open WooCommerce Connector → Import → Products to sync your existing product catalog
  • Finally, open WooCommerce Connector → Import → Customers to import existing customer records

The initial import runs in the background. However, for large catalogs it may take a few minutes.

What to Check After Your First Sync

Once the initial import completes, verify the following:

  • Open your Odoo Sales → Orders — confirm WooCommerce orders appear with correct line items, customer details, and amounts
  • Open Inventory → Products — verify stock counts match what WooCommerce shows
  • Check Contacts — confirm WooCommerce customers have been created as Odoo contacts without duplicates
  • Place a test order on WooCommerce (using a test payment) — confirm it appears in Odoo within seconds
  • Update a product price in Odoo — confirm it pushes to WooCommerce automatically

Troubleshooting — Common Questions

Which Odoo versions does the WooCommerce Connector support?

The Zehntech Odoo WooCommerce Connector supports Odoo v17, v18, and v19 across all deployment types, including Odoo.sh and On-Premise. However, it does not support Odoo v16.

Can I connect multiple WooCommerce stores?

Yes, the connector supports multi-store WooCommerce integration. You can manage multiple WordPress/WooCommerce stores from a single Odoo instance. Odoo centralizes products, orders, inventory and customer data from all connected stores.

Does the connector update automatically when Odoo is upgraded?

The connector is version-specific, and we test and verify each release for the supported Odoo version. When you upgrade Odoo, install the matching version of the connector from the App Store. Your purchase includes lifetime access to updates for your purchased version.

Your WooCommerce-Odoo Integration Is Live
